Premier arret, Paris!

LOCATION:
Paris, France

After a few delayed flights and one stuffy bus ride, we all finally made it to Paris! As soon as we dropped off our bags, we headed out to get our bearings and stretch our legs. One of the first things we ran across was this crazy street performer, and somehow I became part of the show.

Not quite sure what is happening yet...
Not only was this show a good introduction to some of the French eccentricities, it culminated in a little heart balloon that became our signature for the day.

Lauren and Julie LOVE Notre Dame de Paris!

We also made it to the beautiful Eiffel Tower, and got photo bombed, Parisian style.

Il est si grand!

As soon as this picture was over, this guy came over and wanted to be friends.
Another highlight so far has been the night bike tour. We were worried it was going to be freezing, but apparently we brought some Texas heat with us because it was pretty pleasant!

Notre Dame de Paris at night, where I learned the Hunchback was not a real dude.

Much prettier at night, I think.

The Louvre, also beautiful at night.

Overall, Paris has been beautiful so far. One of the things that immediately struck me though, was how much I miss being in a big city. It makes me excited to return to New York!

I learned that the Statue of Liberty was a gift from France, this replica was in the Jardin de Luxembourg.
